Togetherness is Written into Creation

As Spring emerges, I am pondering something. Creation, and what it tells us about togetherness. I love how community is written into creation. I mean, think about it. Beloved God put Adam and Eve in the garden to work it, thereby giving each one a place. It takes more than one person to work land, especially one filled with every tree and plant for food. Not to mention taking care of the animals. So the two working in the garden: community.

Then think about trees and plants that bear fruit. They don't just bear enough for one person; they bear enough for many! And as if that's not enough, every fruit has seeds so that you can replant that and bear even more! And there are different kinds of fruit for different occasions. There is fruit for kids, like grapes and berries, bananas in their sweetness, and so forth. Then there are single serving fruits like apples and oranges. Then there are gigantic fruit that no one could consume alone, like watermelons. Clearly, God had in mind that all would come to the table, and that we would share in the bounty. Isn't that beautiful?
