Re-Post: Oh How He Luvs!

Hi All! This is a re-post. I feel it is a timely word, so I want to put it up again. Please feel free to re-read! Delish.

Once there was a little girl of 3 years old. She stayed at her grandmother's house while her parents went to work during the days. The little girl liked her grandmother and wanted to make her happy. So she did what she loved to do best: she drew her a picture. At the top, the picture said, "I luv you." She was so happy to show her grandma what she had done, so sure it would warm her heart. She came up and proudly presented her gift. She looked up at her grandmother's face, expectantly. But Grandma's face didn't change much from its seriousness as she perused the child-like drawing. Then she said, giving the picture back to the little girl, "You spelled 'love' wrong."

Do you ever feel like you just can't get things right? Like no matter how hard you try to be a "good Christian," a good wife, a good employee, an acceptable person, like there's some invisible force dogging your heels and telling you that you are not enough?

I used to. The problem is that I agreed with this invisible force. I agreed that, if I only did a little more, I would be accepted. Perhaps if, at that job I've only been at for 3 days, I knew what I was doing! If only I could do that really hard dance move I just learned perfectly, it would mean I am a good dancer!

Guess what God said? That this is not true. Did you know that man looks on the outward appearance (the actual performance), but that God looks on your heart? As in, He looks on the fact that you want so much to please Him, even if you don't always achieve what you try to achieve. Even if you don't always FEEL righteous, or if you feel fearful when He asks you to obey, it doesn't mean you are rebellious. You do what you know to do, and He understands your weaknesses. And if you walk in His ways anyway, despite how you feel, that is still great! Jesus went so far as to become human and live in His own creation JUST to let You know He knows what you are going through! Doesn't that rock you? He loves you that much.

Love takes time to mature. Immaturity is not the same as rebellion.  If you are desiring in your heart to grow your love relationship with God, that is already so precious to Him (did you know He told Jesus that He was pleased with Him even before He had done anything in His ministry?). God is there helping you, holding your little spirit hands as you walk life out spiritually, and just being royally excited! Rebellion is doing wrong and not caring at all. Immaturity is the desire to grow, and coming up against the weaknesses you see in yourself by praying. You can't change them on your own; ask God for revelation so that you are spiritually able to change.

So next time you bring Him that proverbial Luv letter, know this. He is seeing your heart, not your mistakes. He is scooping you up in His arms and kissing your spirit lips!
