Trippin Down the Streets of the City

A few years back, I was heading to Espresso Royale to see my friend Hilary. As I was crossing the street, I stumbled a bit. I thought to myself how I was such a klutz. As I got to the curb on the other side of the road, a guy I didn't know says to me, "You are beautiful, muchacha. The walk and all." Crazy. How many people complement you on your walk? For me, none. This guy didn't know what I was thinking, but the One who created the heavens and the earth does. And He knows He doesn't want me to discount my identity for some irrelevant mistake! The Bible says He numbers the hairs on your head. He knows the words you will speak before they are on your tongue. He knows them when they are a mere sensation in your heart and you don't yet know how to state them. And you know what? He adores you. He doesn't stop there, either. He longs. He puts people on street corners to tell you that you are beautiful when you feel like a twit. He sent His only son to willingly die in your place for the penalty you (and everyone) deserve for all the mistakes you wish you could take back but can't. And the blood He shed is not just for your sins, but for all that have sinned against you, bringing healing to your heart that nothing else could give you. There is no length He wouldn't go to, to let you know you are precious to Him. So if you have ever had the slightest moment of insecurity or loneliness, know that your Creator can fill every emptiness and love you in every way you'll ever need. Just ask Him!
